K-DELIGHT 'MAKE IT DIFFERENT' LTD 7" VINYL

by K-DELIGHT feat. SHINOBI STALIN

  • Record/Vinyl

K-Delight's reputation is largely built on the skill with which he manipulates samples, taking rare and unheard pieces of music and reworking them into parts and phrases for his songs. Many of his tracks feature dozens of samples from a wide array of styles and influences including rock, soul, funk, experimental, electronic and jazz. This new release very much carries on in the same vein as his previous works but with a new twist of synthesised funk thrown in for good measure.
‘Make it different’ was Inspired by an early 90’s interview with legendary producer Dr Dre where he states “I listen to everything from R & B to Classical so that’s what makes it different because you need to listen to everything to make your stuff original”.
Make it different is rooted in 90’s boom bapness but also with a new feel using dubbed out guitars, swirling synths and multi layers of polyrhythmic boom clap percussion.
The vocals are provided by Florida’s Shinobi Stalin who was heavily featured on K-D’s debut Audio Revolution album. Shinobi flows effortlessly over the chopped up drum breaks and at times sounds like a cross between Q Tip and Lord Finesse.
The B side ‘Make it break’ is K-Delight’s chance to chop and splice the A side like a mad scientist.
Make it break has a lot of carefully threaded gears turning beneath its instant hook synth bounce, snares and kicks throwing counter measures against each other like a mogue modular sword fight. K-D cuts up a whole new arsenal of vocal samples to weave in and out of the B side mix with devastating effect.

Both of these tracks are featured on K-Delight’s yet to be titled second studio album which will be released later in 2014.
